Counselling in the Comfort of Your Home!

Online and Telephone Counselling is a Convenient
and Comfortable way to access Counselling

COVID-19 has forced many folks out of their offices and into their homes, as everyone takes steps to reduce the spread of the virus. I feel strongly that the progress that was being made in counselling shouldn’t have to stop because we can’t sit together in the same room.

This virus may have propelled us to transition faster into the online world of counselling, but online service delivery actually has tons of benefits. Many individuals who struggle with anxiety and panic have a very hard time getting to a counselling session. For others, transportation or health issues may be a limiting factor. Thanks to technology, counselling can be accessed securely in the comfort of, well - wherever you are!

What You Will Need:
  • A secure wifi connection
  • A smart phone, tablet, or computer
  • A headset with microphone (not necessary, but super helpful if you have it!)
  • Privacy
  • Tissues

eCounselling is approved by the Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association, the First Nations Health Authority, Homewood Health, EMDR International Association, and the Crime Victim Assistance Program. Not all third party funding sources approve online or telephone counselling, so please call your provider to ensure this is a viable option for you.

Free Video Series for Children, All About Emotion Regulation!

Launched during the initial shutdown of COVID-19, this was my way of creating a support to all the children and families that suddenly found themselves at home with their complete way of life interrupted. Schools were closed, visits with friends and family were forbidden, and outings were discouraged. The shutdown also meant that children and families were without support services that may have been in place pre-pandemic. I pulled this online resource together to put some supports in place, for children who may have been having a tough time coping.

This free video series takes components of the Live Calm Kids group (that traditionally ran in-person!), turning it into a YouTube series on managing emotions that kids and access at home.

Live Calm Kids Program Details:

  • Appropriate for ages 6-10
  • 6 videos, each between 20-25 minutes
  • Each video covers a new topic related to emotions and regulation
  • Basic art supplies will be needed (an outline of needed supplies will be in the description of each video)
  • Subscribe to the channel here for easy access to all the videos!

Please share with any families you feel may benefit for this resource.
