Counselling in the Comfort of your Home!

Online and Telephone Counselling is a Convenient
and Comfortable way to access Counselling

COVID-19 has forced many folks out of their offices and into their homes, as everyone takes steps to reduce the spread of the virus. I feel strongly that the progress that was being made in counselling shouldn’t have to stop because we can’t sit together in the same room.

This virus may have propelled us to transition faster into the online world of counselling, but online service delivery actually has tons of benefits. Many individuals who struggle with anxiety and panic have a very hard time getting to a counselling session. For others, transportation or health issues may be a limiting factor. Thanks to technology, counselling can be accessed securely in the comfort of, well - wherever you are!

Here is what you will need to access online counselling:
  • A secure wifi connection
  • A smart phone, tablet, or computer
  • A headset with microphone (not necessary, but super helpful if you have it!)
  • Privacy
  • Tissues

During the COVID-19 crisis, eCounselling is approved by the Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association, the First Nations Health Authority, Homewood Health, EMDR International Association, and the Crime Victim Assistance Program. Not all third party funding sources approve online or telephone counselling. Please call your provider to ensure this is a viable option for you.

Live Calm Kids Series on YouTube
Free Video Series on Emotions for Children:

I have so much compassion for the stress families are going through right now due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to help out, I have decided to take the content from my children's' group and turn it into a free YouTube series. I am just trying to respond to the stress so many families are feeling as schools remain closed and many children are without the support services within the schools.

Here are some details:

  • Appropriate for ages 6-10
  • Each video is about 20-25 minutes long
  • Each video will cover a new topic related to emotions and regulation
  • A new video will be posted each week (receive notification of new videos by subscribing to the channel here)
  • Basic art supplies will be needed (an outline of needed supplies will be in the description of each video)
  • Scroll down to download your free Summary of Skills cheatsheet

Please share with any families you feel may benefit for this resource.
